Zig-zag
Zig Zag is a modular shelving system which is adaptable and extendable and ideally suited to the
changing demands of the modern living.
The Zig Zag shelving system gives the user the adaptability and personalisation of bespoke shelving but with a kit of standard components. The flexibility of this system suits people living in all spaces, big or
small or in rented accommodation.
The concept for this system gives users the ability to change their shelves if they move house or rearrange their spaces. This means that the shelves can grow and adapt through the user’s life. This makes the system more sustainable than some other shelves, as it is not necessary to keep replacing furniture. By starting with a few pieces it can be extended when needed by just buying another component.
The ability to rotate the shelves through 180° means that they are suitable in oddly shaped rooms that are often underused because it is difficult to find suitable furniture to fit the space.
The system can be free standing (when articulated or at low levels) which makes it suitable for use in rented properties and listed buildings where damage to walls and ceiling is undesirable.
When used in taller configurations, ceiling and wall mounted fixings can be added. This gives the flexibility to securely attach the shelves to the walls for additional safety.
